a great lesson learnt
How was the interview on Tuesday? It was a great experience. The first moment I entered that company.. it eventually made me feel horrified. With other 9 of the applicants, I guess I'm the most freshly graduate and I'm the youngest. Some have worked before and are still working, some are just back from overseas, some have been exposed to countless interview experiences before. Only me, I'm still so new. Their English are so fluent that u can't hardly differentiate if they're Malaysians or foreigns. Wow.. when I got there, we filled up the forms. And, the HR Manager gave a short briefing with the slides consisting of the company's profile and video of the Management Trainee programme. Everything was held in their large meeting room. Then, we were given a case study and needed to study it and write an essay in 30 mins' time. We proceeded with a 20 mins' numerical test. It was hard and all of us did not manage to complete answering. We were given a short 5 mins' break. Then, moved on to verbal test. 32 questions and need to finish by 18 mins. That was short! And, we needed to read some statements and passages and the questions are based on them. Only true, false or cannot say. Just pick one. The statements were all in different categories. Some in scientific form, health, business and etc. Awesome! Then, the management marked our papers and those who don't passed will need to leave before moving on to second part. I thought I was the one who ought to leave. But, luckily I managed to stay. Then, left 8 of us, were divided into 2 groups. 4 person in group 1 will proceed with group activity which lasted for 30 mins' long. That was almost like a case study, for which were given a situation and 4 persons will need to have a discussion and came up with a solution and answer. At the same time, there were 5 top management people sitting by aside trying to judge us. I was in the 2nd group. So, we waited for our turn in another room. It ended at 1pm and we were out for lunch break for an hour. Then, continued with interview session with managers. When it was my turn, the time was already 3.20pm. Well, then I was interviewed by 2 female managers. At first, I could answer their questions. But, as the questions got tougher, I was like jumbling up my sentences and could not figure out what were they asking about. True enough, the questions were tough. I could say, I did my best. I know I won't manage to get into the 2nd interview session which is held next week. However, I won't feel too disappointed. As this is a learning experience for me. It was my first time. And, it is indeed an exposure to me. No problem.. =) Yesterday reached home around 10pm. My class ended at 6.30pm and I took lrt back to Uni station. Was feeling kinda bored, so I phoned JT and asked her out for dinner together. I went and fetched her. We had our dinner at One U. Had a long chat with her. Hope to meet up with her again in the coming week. |
