Trip to Taiwan
Travelling, holidaying or backpacking has now become a trend for most of the teens and working adults. The ultimate motives are to relax ourselves from the hustle-bustle of the congested town and also as a chance to experience different cultures of each place. For me, this time around I travelled back to Taiwan again. Why again? I went there in 2006. And I chosed to be back there because my aunt was willing to bring us there once again. Once again to taste and experience the changing environment of the country after 3 years’ time. To be true, I have vivid memories of most of the things and places I’ve went in Taiwan 3 years ago. My sis was like: urgh.. how can you forget those things? Air tics cost a bomb! LoL. That was roughly the way she exclaimed that time. I love this country!!! You will never know by looking at the photos until you really went and stay for a couple of days. Understand the culture, understand their morality and get to know how the country’s administration. I simply rate it as excellent, except for their politics. Well, as a 23-year-old lady, back again in a familiar place, but I’ve brought back different opinions and perceptions regarding this country. I was not only enjoying their scenic views, but I acted as a person who would like to get to know more unobvious things about it. I saw that it has really organized system. You will not see any dustbin by the roadsides with full of trash, without proper handling. NO NO NO. I don’t see any. In fact, they have systematically organized the way the residents throw their daily rubbish. I stayed at a flat in Tam Shui, Taipei. They will surely have announcement throughout the whole building as to inform them that its time to throw. No such thing as to throw whenever as you like. After throwing, they will sort out the recyclable items before the unused ones were sent to the dumps. The purpose is to ensure the locals to have a clean living place. Moreover, I know environmental-friendly campaign is so widely organized and in own country, I have yet to see a very positive change. I know we are improving. I’m sure we can. But, Taiwan has now proceeding and transforming so fast that I, myself impress very much. One day, I and my sis went to a local chainstore, 7-eleven to buy some food. Well, after we had paid the money, the cashier asked if we need a plastic bag to carry the things. And so, we agreed. As we reached home, we glanced at the receipt, they charged us around few bucks in NT$ = RMcents. Without hesitation, I was thinking that only this store charged for the bag. The next day, we went to a different shop. Once again, the same question about plastic bag popped up by the cashier. Once again, we bought the bag. This is a lesson. We should bring our own bag next time we wanna buy things. This is a knowledge and the lesson we ought to learn from others especially in overseas. Resources are now so limited and humans have to start planning for the future generations. In addition, besides the concrete elements, there’s another story I’d like to share which I really find it so contrasting between people overseas and in our own country. How many THANKS you have blurted out from your mouth whenever you’re in public areas? Taiwanese have taught me a very nice lesson again. They are never that petty in offering gratitudes to others/strangers. For example, there was couple of times when we took public buses to an area. Although the people was silent while they’re in the bus, but it is actually a very warmth silence. WHY? Their passengers would definitely said a “XIE XIE = Thank You” when they alight from the bus. Why don’t we have this tradition? They deserve our compliments. And I think I should follow this good example of them. No such thing as shy. Wherever I go, I always hear this word coming out from their mouths. Isn’t it very warm? These are some of the meaningful stories I’d like to tell despite just mentioning the nice places and spectacular photos I’ve taken. The photos will tell the other parts of the trip.. ^^ |
